Alternative Seafood Company Aqua Cultured Foods To Begin Consumer Tastings in April

Aqua Cultured Foods, a food tech startup using a proprietary mycoprotein fermentation process to develop alternative seafood products, is beginning consumer tasting trials in the next few weeks.

Aqua Cultured Foods first made headlines in February 2022 when they unveiled their first product: squid-free calamari fries. Using microbial fermentation, the company was able to create a calamari alternative that has 80 calories, 15-20 grams of protein, 10-12 grams of fiber, and no sodium, saturated fat or cholesterol.
